OnBoard Festival

Bala Sailing Club

The OnBoard Festival is the perfect event to round off your summer of sailing and is the last stop for the Dragon Series (overall series prizes handed out at this event!) . This year the event will be held at Bala Sailing Club on the 30th-31st August.

This event is perfect for:

Sailors aged 8-18
Any class of dinghy (if you need to borrow one just ask and we'll help you get out on the water 😊)
Sailors who have attended the Dragon Series/ club racing
Squad sailors wanting more time on the water

If this is your first event, don't worry! We know how daunting it can be, that's why we make sure that:

Coaches are on the water
Plenty of safety boats nearby
Friendly volunteers on shore to help with rigging and launching
All sailors are looked after 😊

Fleets

Training Fleet

Coached, introductory fleet- perfect for rookies or sailors who aren't confident racing on their own yet. You will sail shorter courses close to the shore with on the water coaching and lots of encouragement. This fleet is ideal for building skills and having pressure free fun.

Main Fleet Silver

Racing sailors looking to gain more experience and a place in next year's Welsh National Squad, Typically, they have been taking part in open training or have attended other events. Silver fleet sailors will race alongside gold fleet but will be scored separately.
